Annual Clemente Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament Raises Funds to Continue Efforts

In a week filled with compassionate community initiatives assisting the homeless, elderly, veterans, and youth of Puerto Rico, the Roberto Clemente Foundation concluded its efforts with the highly successful Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Coco Beach Golf Resort on Friday. The event raised essential funds to support the Foundation's ongoing initiatives. 

Founder, co-chair, and middle son of Roberto and Vera Clemente, Luis Clemente led the event. 

An abundance of fresh foods and refreshments were available at each hole for golfers to enjoy throughout the day. Pictured above are Luis Clemente and Foundation President Tom Brasuell at one of the tents. 

The day began bright and early, with teams registering while gearing up in special apparel. A golf bag, shirts, hats, lanyards, drinking glasses, food, and beverages were all provided compliments of the Foundation.

Participants basked in the scenic beauty of the Puerto Rican golf course, blending the joy of the sport with a competitive spirit. As they navigated the fairways, the tournament also provided a poignant opportunity to reflect on the enduring legacy of Roberto Clemente, further fueling a sense of purpose and community engagement.

Throughout the golf course, special tents offered delectable foods and refreshing beverages, enhancing the overall experience for participants. The generosity extended to incredible prizes, with over 100 lucky winners announced during the post-golf dinner.

Acknowledging the collaborative spirit, the Foundation expressed gratitude to key partners such as General Mills, BodyArmor, and others who contributed to the week's success. This tournament serves as a crucial fundraising pillar, enabling the Foundation to carry out impactful initiatives throughout the year.

In the preceding week alone, the Foundation's outreach efforts touched the lives of over 2,000 individuals across Puerto Rico, spanning clinics, shelter support, community initiatives, and fundraising activities. The Foundation's presence extended to Salinas, Adjuntas, Fajardo, San Juan, Caguas, and Rio Grande. 

Former Major League Baseball players including Ellie Rodriguez, Orlando Isales, Irving Falu, Mario Diaz, Quentin Holmes, Eddie Vargas, and Eddie Rodriguez, as well as Field of Dreams Ghost Players Paul Scherrman, Curtis Mack, and Frank Dardis were in attendance to assist with clinics and other community engagements throughout the week. 

As the week concluded, the Roberto Clemente Foundation extended heartfelt thanks to all participants and partners, emphasizing that such events and initiatives wouldn't be possible without the trust and support of those committed to making a positive difference.
