Roberto Clemente Foundation Joins Luz Del Munro in Serving Puerto Rico's Vulnerable Communities 
In a powerful collaboration, the Luz Del Munro Foundation, led by Pastor Mariano, received crucial support from the Roberto Clemente Foundation in its mission to uplift Puerto Rico's most vulnerable. Last Thursday, the combined efforts resulted in the distribution of 720 hot meals, exemplifying their commitment to providing for the elderly, disabled, and veterans. 


The Luz Del Munro Foundation, in partnership with the Roberto Clemente Foundation, is a non-profit organization led by Pastor Mariano. Committed to serving Puerto Rico's vulnerable communities, their focus on providing essential services reflects a dedication to creating a positive impact through collaborative outreach programs.







A New Dimension of Care 
Adding an extra layer of care to their services, Luz Del Munro inaugurated a Barber Shop within the Centro de Ayuda Social, with the Roberto Clemente Foundation on-hand to assist in the ribbon cutting ceremony. The newly opened facility offers a range of services, including haircuts, pedicures, manicures, and more, providing a holistic approach to well-being for those who may not have easy access to such amenities. 


Empowering Daily Operations 
Facing challenges head-on, the foundation helped to run the daily operations on Thursday morning. This is a daily operation that runs typically with only four chefs overseeing the preparation of thousands of pounds of groceries. Supported by approximately two dozen workers, the collaboration ensures a seamless distribution process for those in need.


Creating Community Spaces 
Going beyond basic sustenance, Luz Del Munro's setup creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, thanks to the influence of the Roberto Clemente Foundation. The shared vision is to foster community and connection, allowing individuals to gather, socialize, and enjoy a restaurant-style experience irrespective of their financial circumstances. 

In the evening, members of the Foundation hosted a baseball clinic for the youth of Farajardo.  Nearly 100 participants of all ages and their families were on-hand for thorough instruction and interaction. 



Capstone Event: Celebrity Golf Tournament and Fundraiser 
At the core of the Foundation's impactful time in Puerto Rico, the team is gearing up for a celebrity golf tournament and fundraiser on Friday. This event is also a vital means to raise funds for sustaining and expanding their impactful initiatives. 

The celebrity golf tournament will see the participation of well-known participants, all joining forces to support the noble causes which the Roberto Clemente Foundation has been instrumental in establishing through the years. The Foundation has garnered additional support from various organizations who have generously donated gifts to add excitement to the fundraiser. A Day of Fun: Successful Clemente Clinic Unites Youth

The Roberto Clemente Foundation, in collaboration with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and Major League Baseball's Play Ball program, hosted an exhilarating youth baseball clinic on September 16th at the historic West Field in Munhall, PA. West Field, known as the former home of the Homestead Grays of the Negro League, provided a fitting backdrop for our event. Additionally, the unwavering continuous support of the Pittsburgh Pirates and The Ghost Players was a seamless extension of the Roberto Clemente Day festivities that unfolded throughout the weekend. Starting at 12 pm, the clinic welcomed boys and girls aged 6 to 12 who shared a passion for America's favorite pastime. Roberto Clemente Day 2023 commenced with a morning proclamation ceremony at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, where numerous dignitaries, including Senator Devlin Robinson and Pirates President Travis Williams, officially declared September 15th, 2023 as Roberto Clemente Day in Pennsylvania and across Major League Baseball. The event drew a crowd of onlookers who gathered to pay homage to the legendary figure.
